What exactly is "Dreamdasher Productions"?
Dreamdasher Productions is a small time amatuer filmmaking group dedicated to the art of cinema on a more classic, old-school level. While we do regularly make use of computer-generated special effects in some of our projects, we make it our goal to focus on production value, script writing, and plot development, and as such special effects tend to come secondary to our goal. Why the name "Dreamdasher"?
Short Story: It's an old inside joke from a prior workplace and I thought it sounded cool. What is your goal?
To make movies, plain and simple. I have a passion for filmmaking. My entire life, I've always wanted to use my creativity to create things other people can enjoy. There's not much more to it than that, really. I have a big dream project I hope to one day work on, but currently that's still quite a lofty goal. Why don't you have any movies on your site?
Dreamdasher Productions is a brand new group without any finalized work yet. It's taken me 28 years to finally discover what I want to do with my life, so a few more months to start producing quality work is a small price in my eyes.Do you look to any other amatuer filmmakers for inspiration?
Truth be told, I've never been that big into amatuer filmmaking from a fan standpoint. However, I have to give a lot of credit to James Rolfe over at Cinemassacre Productions for inspiring me to really turn my dreams of amatuer filmmaking into any sort of reality. Like me, he has a lot of appreciation for the art of cinema rather than just turning a quick buck, so I can really respect that. I'm definitely a big fan.Do you ever plan to shoot on film?
Not really, no. I do understand that there are big advantages to using film, and that it gives that more "professional" look to movies, but it's expensive and it's still a hassle compared to digital. What are your favorite movies?
I have a few, but haven't really spent a large amount of time watching movies myself (I know, sort of strange for someone so dedicated to cinematography). I'd have to say that some of my favorite movies are Braveheart, the Back to the Future trilogy, Pulp Fiction, Office Space, the first two Terminator movies, and Star Wars. There are others, too, but I can't possibly recall all of them. I'm also a huge fan of Star Trek: The Next Generation, having seen every single episode multiple times, and I am a fan of the Star Trek franchise in general.
